Italian Rivera Poolside
"La Reception Grazioso"
OPENING NIGHT
April 11, 2005

As guests arrived to the lush poolside gardens at the Italian Riviera they felt the atmosphere of elegance surrounding them. Children swaying banners made to follow the logo of the event served as a perfect interactive welcome. Each of the cocktail tables was draped to the floor with bright red linen. Centered on the tables were simple terra cotta pots filled with fresh herbs, surrounded by votive candles.

Four buffets surrounding the fountain were dressed with fresh greenery and appeared to be formal hedges of boxwood. Three additional buffets were draped in elegant linens. Oversized arrangements spilling from terra cotta pots featured a variety of Italian fresh herbs and vegetables in a giant harvest of colors. The scents of fresh tomatoes, egg plant, and squash filled the air mixed with basil and oregano. A veritable salad topped the tables driving home the Italian Rivera theme.

As the sun began to set the surrounding foliages were washed in soft green lighting of different shades, while the area where guests enjoyed conversation was washed in soft hues of pink and rose tones giving each guest a glow of health. "Stringer lights" formed a canopy of light giving a festive Italian atmosphere to the area.

Six lounge areas were set with a series of oversized red leather ottomans and pillows. These were all placed in different configurations adding the sleek design elements that the Italians are famous for.

The evening's simple yet smart décor was the perfect start to the week long event.

AWARDS NIGHT

As guests arrived to the foyer of the ballroom they were greeted by a magnificent entry way. The ballroom's center set of doors were decorated with stripes of midnight blue liquid Lurex fabric that towered from floor to ceiling in a random pattern. Each of the stripes was hit with beams of light adding a spectacular shimmer to the fabric. These lights danced and strobed as guests made their way into the room. The ballyhoo effect was that of entering a movie premier.

Upon entering the room guests were brought back in time to the days when Las Vegas was all glitz and glamour. On the perimeter of the room, stripes of the same fabric used at the door projected the feeling of light beams shining to the ceiling in vivid blue. The dining tables were placed in the center of these beams and were draped to the floor in the same blue shimmering fabric. The center of the perimeter tables supported a tall lit-from-within spandex vase that was topped with oversized arrangements of white Ostrich plumes. Each of the arrangements was hit with a beam of pure white light making the arrangement pop off of the tabletop. Each of the tables in the center area had low lush arrangements of all white roses accented with white ostrich plumes. The chairs were covered with pewter colored Lamour sheath and sash giving them an elegant look.

The stage where awards were given was dressed with more "beams" of blue light and fabric keeping the overall theme in mind for the evening. A pair of large ostrich-plume arrangements on lighted spandex pedestals flanked the center stage and towered a full eight feet into the air making a perfect backdrop for a photo opportunity.

The overall room was washed in shades a pink and rose-colored lighting giving everyone a healthy look of celebration.

"Celebracion Fantastica"
CLOSING NIGHT
April 14, 2005

As guests left the cocktail area and proceeded to the Grand Ballroom, they entered through "The tunnel of Transformation." The tunnel had a floor of white carpet with walls designed in lush white chiffon that towered a full 12′ in the air. At the top of the chiffon walls was a dome archway designed of all white balloons which covered the ceiling. Hanging from this textured ceiling were hundreds of tiny mirrors giving a wonderful surface for the light to bounce from. This created a magical feeling lifting all spirits. The ceiling was lit with changing intelligent lighting all down the 110′ foot walkway. The walls were also up lit in changing color lighting. The beginning of the tunnel was one color and in constant movement towards the end graduating the color hue. The tunnel set the mood for the spectacular room guests were about to enter.

From the moment that guests arrived to the Grand Ballroom for the Celebracion Fantastica they were awed by the surroundings and left to wonder where they had come for the evening. The ballroom that they had spent so much time in for the previous days had been totally transformed into a very majestic space. All of the walls were draped from an 18′ height in pure white chiffon giving the space a totally different feeling. The white fabric was up lighted and changed colors throughout the evening. The room was given three different levels forming the feeling of an old supper club. Each of the levels had frosted Plexiglass in the kick space. These levels were then lit to add a romantic glow to the floor, and changed color throughout the night according to the wall color. Each of the sixty guest dining tables was draped to the floor with white cloths and topped with a confetti sparkle overlay that was able to catch the magical light show that was in progress throughout the evening. The center of the tables supported a clear plexi glass square vessel that contained clear glass marbles topped with white pillar candles in different heights surrounded by clear glass hurricane chimneys. All of the chairs surrounding the tables were covered with white spandex covers turning the chairs into interesting shapes. The perfect pure white palette that we had given the room served as the canvas for strokes of different colors to play on the walls, floor and tables. Moving lights while changing color hit each of the items in the room giving the room a constantly different look.

This was a spectacular night that will never be forgotten by each and every lucky guest.
