60th Anniversary
Pebble Beach and Tennis Club
August 14, 2008
As guests passed through registration at the entry of the reception, they were greeted by a display built to simulate off road terrain with several vehicles being a part of the vignette.
The centerpiece of the parking lot reception was a large round bar designed of light ash wood and milky Plexiglass. An additional bar with a white canvas surround was placed near the restroom tent at the rear of the lot. Surrounding the area were twenty high boy tables designed of steel and copper, as well as twelve seated cocktail tables draped in linens of soft earth tones. Some of the high boys were surrounded by bar stools slip covered in white denim, giving them a casual ″beach look″. The seated tables were surrounded with six white wood folding chairs. The center of each table supported a casual floral arrangement designed with grasses and casual blossoms.
Four 42″ tall tables designed with steel bases and copper tops were placed on the perimeter of the area for buffet stations. A white market umbrella flanked both sides of each table providing protection from the elements. Each table was dressed with floral designs similar to those seen on the seating tables.
At the far end of the parking lot another Land Rover canopy measuring 20′ wide and 20′ long served as a foyer to the rest room. The ground was covered with a seagrass carpet and had two seating areas of white wood sofas with natural colored cushions. Two floor length mirrors were also used in this area along with foliage, dressing out the area. The ceiling of the tent was dressed with white linen like fabric. On the front side of the tent a stage was built for the evening’s entertainment.
Moving into the main entry of the Clubhouse we topped a 54″ round steel with copper top table with an oversized floral piece that complemented the entire beach theme we had been working around. Turning to the right and walking down the hallway toward the dining room the hall was dressed with pictures of the Land Rover line-up throughout the past 60 years. To the right, the conference room was used for soft seating and a conversation area, and was dressed with palm trees.
The main dining room of the club house was carpeted in seagrass carpet giving the room a fresh new look that works well with the beach. Seating areas were arranged with white overstuffed furniture surrounding ottomans for use as cocktail tables as well as ottomans. Pillows in blue and orange accented each of the sofas as well as the chairs used. A sprinkling of five 36″ round tables covered in soft earth tone fabrics were surrounded with four arm chairs that were slip covered in white denim. The center of the tables supported a pave arrangement of all orange floral giving them a punch of color. The room also held two 8′ long tables designed of steel and copper for communal seating. Eight white slip covered bar stools surrounded the tables. In addition, four 8′ long tables, dressed in the same natural colored linens as the seating tables, were used as dessert stations.
The outside patio near the pool was set for seating with four white wood couches with natural cushions and coffee tables. An 8′ table was set in the area for flaming coffee and was dressed in the same manner as the dessert buffets. A bar with a white canvas surround just like that in the outdoor reception area was also placed on the outside patio.
